Galvanized steel stakes, 15 mm thick and one metre long, driven through the footplates: four per footplate, two footplates per truss — eight stakes per truss — plus at least eight more at each end wall. Gravel and sand take screw piles — under the footplates, or between trusses with cables drawn tight in a V. Solid rock takes wedge anchors drilled straight in, with shims to level.
