Compare the complete building, delivered to your site.

A lower kit price can be useful. First check that both quotes cover the same size, usable openings, site requirements and work. Use this checklist for stock kits and buildings made to your specifications.

Eight things to put beside each other

  1. Usable space. Compare width, length, usable height and clear door openings for your equipment. A nominal footprint does not establish clearances.
  2. The actual configuration. Identify the model, frame and bay spacing, doors, cover material and weight, and included components. MAX specifies 750g PVC on the 30′–70′ range and 900g on the 80′ Industrial Series. Cover weight alone does not establish structural capacity or cover life.
  3. Engineering for the project. Ask which drawings and design assumptions apply to the exact configuration and address. Confirm foundation and anchoring scope, any provincial seal or site review, who arranges it and its price. “Stamped drawings available” does not establish that site-specific work is included or that a permit is approved.
  4. Delivery and unloading. Record the supplying location, freight charge or inclusion, access requirements and who unloads. MAX includes delivery within 888 highway km of the hub supplying the order, for products stocked there or ordered into that hub. Unloading is the customer’s responsibility unless the written quote states otherwise. See the delivery rule and examples.
  5. Installation and site work. Separate assembly labour from equipment, travel, lodging, site preparation, foundations and anchoring work. Confirm who supplies each item and what an install-ready site means for the quote.
  6. Documents and support. Ask for the applicable drawings, assembly instructions and anchoring information. Identify who handles delivery questions, missing components and technical questions requiring an engineer.
  7. Warranty and replacement costs. Compare covered defects, exclusions, proration, labour and freight, and the claim process. MAX has two-year manufacturing and material-defect coverage and a twelve-year limited prorated main fabric cover warranty. Read the terms. Current cover package prices help with planning; they are not a future price guarantee.
  8. The total and payment terms. Compare totals before tax on the same scope, then applicable tax. Identify every allowance, exclusion and unresolved cost. Check deposit terms, quote validity, stock or production status and the conditions behind the delivery date.

Comparing a stock kit with a custom building

A custom offer may include different openings, site-specific design, foundations or finishes. Put those deliverables beside the stock kit and any additional work it needs. Ask for the exact model and scope behind a snow-series premium; the name alone does not quantify a design advantage.

A missing public specification is a question for the seller, not proof that its building lacks the feature. Ask both suppliers for the same written answers.

What MAX can put on your quote

Your selected building and configuration, supplying hub, delivery charge or inclusion, unloading responsibility, separately quoted services, payment terms and proposed timing. Supplied product drawings and site-specific engineering are different deliverables; confirm the work and cost required for your address.

See published kit and installed-from prices, then compare the additional scope required for your project.
